Book Review: Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick

Feisty teen Nora Grey somehow survived the crises of Hush, Hush!, but dangers just as frightening loom in this standalone sequel. Patch, her guardian angel and love interest, appears to have a dark side and a wandering eye. Worse yet, he seems intent on obstructing Nora as she hunts for the truth behind her father's mysterious death. Even better than the first.

Okay guys. Sorry about a late review. School work was getting very much in the way. But I finally got through to it.:]

I give Crescendo:
☼☼☼☼
4 out of 5 stars.

I really liked Crescendo even though I do admit that it was no Hush, Hush. Maybe because I didn't get a lot of Patch like I hoped for. Haha.

I really did like how a lot of secrets were unraveled and we got a lot deeper into stuff. I just wish that we could get a little more paranormal. I feel like these books are just mysteries and such.

I would really like to see more of the whole fallen angel concept and deal with more stuff like that.

I feel the ending was very rushed and eded to abruntly. I understand that Becca Fitzpatrick wanted a cliffhanger, but that was too much of one.

It makes me wonder how the next book will start.

Nonetheless, I really liked Crescendo and loved the thrill it gave me. I will deffinately get the next book. ;]

Look what I found ! (11/10/2010)

“I’ve left some clues for you.
If you want them, turn the page.
If you don’t, put the book back on the shelf, please.”

So begins the latest whirlwind romance from the New York Times bestselling authors of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist. Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on a favorite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. But is Dash that right guy? Or are Dash and Lily only destined to trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York? Could their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions? Or will they be a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions?

Rachel Cohn and David Levithan have written a love story that will have readers perusing bookstore shelves, looking and longing for a love (and a red notebook) of their own.

Yes, this is something I started myself.

Haha. I usually find my books on blogs of people I follow, but this on I found on my own.

This is Dash & Lily's Book of Dares. It's by the same authors of Nick and Nora's Infinite Play list. I didn't read the book, but I did see the movie and I looooved it. I read the first couple of pages of this book and liked it immediately. It's very funny and you can already tell its going to be awesome.

So, if your looking for a book out of the whole paranormal genre, then I suggest picking it up.

:]

P.S. - I'm half way down with Crescendo and I'm loving every minute of it. Besides, Nora. She's peeing me off.

Haha. Please look foreword to my review on that.

In my mailbox ! (11/6/2010)

Okay, guys. This is it. Ofcourse I had to get Crescendo. I just finished Hush, Hush like two days ago and I loved it. When I heard that Crescendo was going to be much better - I had to get my hands on it.

Secondly, I got Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. I heard a lot of good things about these books and I've been very interested in reading it. So, hopefully I will like it and move onto Beautiful Darkness. I heard that this series will contain about four books.

Please look foreward to my reviews on Crescendo and Beautiful Creatures.
:]

Ugh.

Well, as I was messing around with my blog and such - I accidently erased all my comments. All my proof that atleast one person was reading my blog.

Sorry, Reading Lassie. :[

Hopefully, I can quickly get the hang of this already.

Book Review: Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her...until Patch comes along.
With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment, but after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is far more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life

Alright people. I just finished Hush Hush and I gotta say. Wow. :3

I give Hush Hush:
☼☼☼☼☼
4.5 stars out of 5.
But for the sake of this blog, I'll give it a five.

I started reading Hush Hush with not knowing what to expect since it was my first 'fallen angel' book. Surprisingly, I liked it.

It was very thrilling. Something was always happening in every chapter. It had a good sense of humor, love, horror and so much more.

One thing I was looking for was for more fallen angel stuff. Yes, we do find out that Patch is obviously a fallen angel, but I didn't get a lot of cool stuff that I wanted.

Ah, well. I guess I'll get it in Crescendo. :]

I will absolutely continue on with this series and hope for the best.

By the way - I love Patch.

Teehee.

Get your hand on this book !

Book Review: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed. Gale has escaped. Katniss's family is safe. Peeta has been captured by the Capitol. District 13 really does exist. There are rebels. There are new leaders. A revolution is unfolding.

It is by design that Katniss was rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell, and it is by design that she has long been part of the revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plans -- except Katniss.

The success of the rebellion hinges on Katniss's willingness to be a pawn, to accept responsibility for countless lives, and to change the course of the future of Panem. To do this, she must put aside her feelings of anger and distrust. She must become the rebels' Mockingjay -- no matter what the personal cost

Hands down I give Mockingjay:

☼☼☼☼
4 stars out of 5.

I was really excited to read Mockingjay after finishing Catching Fire. I do admit that it was kind of hard for me to understand due to the whole District 13 thing. They do work a lot differently then the other Districts did, so it did take me a while to get the hang of it.

One of the things that I didn't like was the whole 'War' theme of this book. I feel like it wasn't really connected or even about the Hunger Games anymore.

I due admit that even though it wasn't the same, there was still a lot of action and surprises everywhere. There was even moments when I'll be screaming at my book and making a scene in public.

I am happy with the ending and with who Katniss chose as her life partner. I'm happy for them and I'm glad that Suzanne Collins did not make it a 'happily ever after' thing.

There was some things that I felt wasn't answered to me about some characters or their whereabouts. I don't know if it was because I was reading too fast and jumped over it or it really wasn't explained that well.

All in all, I'm really loved the book. It was a good ending to a wonderful series and I hope to hear more from Suzanne Collins.

:]
